What’s next for 2020…

Traversing the Iberian Peninsula on 90% gravel roads and trails

The 2nd Iberica-Traversa adventure will start April 26th in Saint-Jean-de-Luz and finish at Tarifa Spain. The 1720km route will follow again unpaved gravel roads and trails. Same route as 2019 reverse, with some improvements.
In the region of the Gorafe desert we changed the route. To get the same long downhill into the canyons of the Gorafe desert, the route follows after Pozo Alcon the ridge along the canyons with great views over the desert. Leaving the canyon land direction Granada, riders join a new different route out of the Gorafe desert.

Some highlights of the route:
Sain-Jean-de-Luz, Pamplona, Parque Natural de la Bardenas Reales, Parque Natural de la Serrania de Cuenca, Cuenca, Parque Natural de la Sierra de Castril, Gorafe desert, Sierra Nevada, Ronda, Granada, Camino del Ray, Parque Natural de la Sierra de Grazalema, Parque Natural Los Alcornocales, Tarifa

The Last Frontier of North America – about 80% gravel and 20% pavement

Long days and a chance to see the Northern Lights awaits!  Don’t miss out on this unique adventure. 1654km from Anchorage to Deadhorse on Prudhoe Bay, the route will traverse the subarctic ecosystem of southern Alaska to the arctic tundra north of the Arctic Circle. The route will pass through some beautiful areas of Alaska.

The Dalton Highway is a highlight of the route and a unique road for many reasons. It was built as a haul road for large trucks traveling from Fairbanks to the oil fields near Prudhoe Bay. The stretch of the Dalton Highway from Fairbanks to Deadhorse is extremely remote, especially beyond the Arctic Circle. Three settlements are found along the Dalton: Coldfoot (population of 10 people), Wiseman (pop. 22) and Deadhorse (pop. 25 permanent, up to 3000 seasonal industry workers depending on oil production). From Coldfoot to Deadhorse is 220+ miles of remote gravel road with no services of any kind.

Less vertical climbing, more desert pistes and a road route for 2020

When you start the “Morocco Bike-Adventure”, you dive into a world far away from your comfort zone! You conquer the African continent on your bicycle!

New for 2020:
 – 2100km road route on paved roads only
 – 1900km piste route with optional extensions of another 1100km.

The 2020 route starts again in Tangier and heads trough the Rif mountains and over the Middle Atlas directly to the Sahara desert. For the dirt road route, “pistes” once used from the legendary Paris-Dakar Rally are part of the route. The road route stays nearby the piste route but uses paved roads only with almost no traffic.
